Moto-Cross Madness

David was treated to an afternoon having a taster session at TonyMoto, a moto-cross facility in Winchester. It has about 6 tracks in all. He took his mate Tom along. Although they are both keen BMX racers ( and Tom is a BMX champ ), this was a scary moment as they waited with all their protective clobber on.
John was their instructor. Nice bloke - been there seen it done it himself. His son races as well which made him give up road racing to concentrate on his moto-cross racing. He told the boys that if they listened in the first half an hour then they would soonbe out on the big track.
Here is Tom taking his first steps on a motorbike. John told him off for his easy rider style. He did a couple of wicked wheelies when he was doing this bit of training!
David waiting to start his go around the grass just to get the hang of clutch / throttle control.

The second session they were introduced to gears!
David here shown holding a very good position on the bike on the big track. John said that he had listened really well and that he would be a good technical rider if he continued. Mmmmm, that's the big question!

Kiva - March 07

Vegetables are really important in our daily lives and that is what Leleo Mauga believes in. She grows different varieties of vegetables like pumpkins, cabbages, cucumbers and tomatoes to name a few. A determined and hard working woman most of her times is spent in selling her produce at the market. Leleo earns eighty-tala everyday of the week. However, bad weather is a constraint for Leleo’s small business sometimes. Nevertheless she is always willing to overcome these problems and she is confident that her son who has a small business of his own can assist her whenever she is in need.

Kiva - Ayisha

Scarlett's next Kiva venture.

Ayisha is 40 years old and a mother of 4. She resides at Effiakuma where she runs a small food joint. She has done this business for the past 2 years. There seems to be considerable progress with adequate potential for growth. Ayi has also gone through the TEACH sessions of Kraban Support Foundation. Equipped with these skills she is seeking this loan from Kiva in order to expand her business.

Liverpool March '07 #5

We went to Alton Towers on the Sunday. On the way it was hailing, blowing a hoolie, raining but we're British. Yes we had a great time anyway. Hardly any queues as well. This is Oblivion, a ride which stops where you see it just before it launches you vertically down a large drainpipe at warp speed. Not only that but as you look over there is a big sign on the ground saying, "DO NOT LOOK DOWN"
At the time Michael and David were on Oblivion Scarlett decided to do this ride 7 times. If you look closely there is a seat full of flowing hair somewhere.
Shame this didn't come it but it was actually snowing at the time and we were sheltering in this gift shop after coming off a flume ride where we got cold and wet. You can just see a bit of snow on the putting challenge there.

We went out to the Tavern at Penny Lane for Saturday evening. Kia didn't join us because she was busy whopping it up in town for St. Patricks Day - to be sure, to be sure! Mum and Dad were daring and had a glass of wine and got close.
I was just happy to be within the bosom ( ooh-er Mrs! ) of my family again.
Michael and Ju get on really well but I think Michael must have had a smaller seat or it must be an optical illusion because Ju fits under Michael's armpits nowadays.
Tony and Scarlett having a fun time. Good to see him again.

We went karting at a dubious looking warehouse in Liverpool but the people there were very friendly. Scarlett ( sideways sorry ) was not to impressed at the start with her new Michael Schumacher outfit but.......
she was still able to pull a wicked girlie pose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We all had a great time. David won. Scarlett was first lady home. Michael got the prize for longest skid and Dad got the most vibrating kart in the whole wide world. Scarlett says she almost took her head off on the steering wheel when she crashed. Drama queen.

Biff loves seeign David and feels like a young pup again. Too bad the arthritis means that he can't jump about like he really wants to but when David tickles his tum........
he just can't resist rolling over. Bless him - big ball of fur.
Handsome boy!

Tony showed us his proud new scootabout today. Purple!! Not only that we all got to have a go and practice being 80 years old too. David was under control...........
Scarlett wasn't!!!!!!!!!! A few seconds after this girlie pose she veered off and wheelied all over the pavement. Pah. Women drivers!!!!!!!!!!
Michael was slightly too large for it and we were a bit concerned about the scooter breaking down for a minute.
